A Silicone release liner film has some distinct advantages over using a paper substrate. When we talk release liner we talk about the base paper or base film that is used. Film substrates being used in a release liner makes up over 20% of the release liner market and is growing steadily. There are usually cost savings seen due to faster production, more labels per reel and a potential broader range of adhesive options.

The film of choice for these labels if usually PET. Benefits over a paper substrate are the following: A clear-on-clear "no-label look", provides increased tear out strength during high speed label dispensing, excellent caliper(gauge) control, no re-moisturization required for use, debris free material for clean rooms.
PP film is often coated 1 Side with an Easy Silicone release and than applied to adhesive membranes for roofing applications. This can provide in varous gauges and coatings either 1 side or 2 side.
